CATHERINE ZIBO
Catherine Zibo is a Montreal-based Canadian artist and graduate of the Montreal Jewelry School (2022). That same year, she earned certification from the Cultured Pearl Association of America. During her further training, she learned from acclaimed contemporary jewelers such as Daniela Malev, Ruudt Peters, and Ted Noten. In 2024–2025, she studied lapidary art under Yves St-Pierre.
In her artistic practice, Catherine strives to reimagine the concept of jewelry as a talisman, analyze its capacities as a vessel for emotions, and further explore the paths laid by the tradition of sentimental and mourning jewelry.
Her work has been exhibited throughout Canada, the United States, as well as in the Netherlands, France, Portugal, Italy and other European countries. She was invited to serve on the jury for the Montreal Jewelry School’s 2025 Private Collection prize.
Catherine’s interests span archaeology, painting, drawing, photography and urbanism. She has established and develops a personal jewelry library in five languages, with volumes ranging from the late 19th century to contemporary publications.
