Mina Saneei is a contemporary jewelry artist and designer based in Vancouver, Canada. Mina Saneei is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Vancouver, Canada. Originally from Iran, her practice is shaped by a layered cultural perspective that merges traditional sensibilities with contemporary processes. Working across contemporary jewelry, painting, collage, and object-based art, Saneei explores materiality, emotion, memory, and transformation through sculptural and tactile forms. Her work often balances fluid, organic gestures with precise structural elements informed by a background in architecture.
Saneei began her creative journey through hands-on making and material exploration, initially working across a range of mediums and techniques before developing a lasting affinity for metalwork and silversmithing in 2012. This experimental foundation continues to inform her interdisciplinary and process-driven practice, where materials are approached intuitively and conceptually alike.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Iran and an Advanced Diploma in Jewellery Arts from George Brown College, where she developed a strong foundation in metal arts and contemporary jewelry design. Her work has been featured in exhibitions highlighting experimental and contemporary art practices, reflecting an ongoing interest in expanding the boundaries between adornment, object, and fine art.
Alongside jewelry, Saneei’s painting and collage practices investigate texture, abstraction, layering, and the emotional resonance of form. Across mediums, her work is guided by an interest in creating pieces that hold presence and invite contemplation—objects and images that function as vessels for personal and collective narratives.
An active member of the Vancouver Metal Arts Association, Saneei currently serves as Chair of the Exhibition Committee, contributing to the development and curation of local metal arts programming. Her recent projects include co-organizing contemporary jewelry exhibitions focused on sculptural and abstract works, further extending her role as both artist and curator.
Alongside her studio practice, Saneei works within the jewelry industry as a production manager, integrating technical expertise with design efficiency. Earlier in her career, she also developed and taught leathercraft and handmade accessory production, experiences that contributed to her ongoing relationship with craft, construction, and material understanding.
Through an interdisciplinary approach, Saneei challenges conventional distinctions between art, object, and adornment. Her work invites deeper engagement with material and form, creating spaces where emotion, memory, and physical experience intersect.
